title: Livernorth liver patient support group

Welcome to the LIVErNORTH website (*NEW WEBSITE COMING SOON*)

LIVErNORTH is a national liver patient support group based at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne. We have members from all over the UK and overseas.

We are a well established UK registered charity (No. 1087226).

Whatever liver disease you may have, we are here to support you.

We are run entirely by unpaid volunteers and all of our services are absolutely free to UK liver patients, their carers and families.

As we have no paid employees we therefore have no wages to pay.

Every penny donated goes directly to research or patient support.

Our detailed Accounts and Annual Report can be found here: Accounts & AR

Since we were formed in 1994 we have funded research and provided support to patients, carers and families to the value of £1.3m.

Research applications are invited - please download the application form from our publications page. LIVErNORTH is a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) non-commercial Partner. This means the studies that we fund may be eligible to access the NIHR Study Support Service which is provided by the NIHR Clinical Research Network. The NIHR Clinical Research Network can now support health and social care research taking place in non-NHS settings, such as studies running in care homes or hospices, or public health research taking place in schools and other community settings. Read the full policy: Eligibility Criteria for NIHR Clinical Research Network Support here: https://www.nihr.ac.uk/documents/researchers. In partnership with your local R&D office, we encourage you to involve your local NIHR Clinical Research Network team in discussions as early as possible when planning your study. This will enable you to fully benefit from the support available through the NIHR Study Support Service. To find out more, please visit: www.nihr.ac.uk/study-support-service If your study involves NHS sites in England you will need to apply for Health Research Authority Approval. For guidance on submitting an application please visit: www.hra.nhs.uk.
